World Religion Day Celebration Cancelled (1 February 2026)

Due to weather-related safety concerns and participant conflicts with the rescheduled event date, we are cancelling this Sunday’s (1 February 2026) World Religion Day celebration.

We regret the confusion and any inconvenience.

World Religion Day Return Rescheduled (1 February 2026)

We are moving the World Religion Day celebration to Sunday (1 February 2026) due to a winter storm watch affecting the Shreveport / Bossier City area and surrounding communities.

Join us on Sunday (1 February 2026) from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM for the 25th annual celebration of the religious diversity in Northwest Louisiana.

This community event is being held at the Highland Center (520 Olive Street, Shreveport LA  71104).

This year’s event features:

  • An opening ceremony
  • Panel discussions where representatives of participating faiths explore the “big questions”
  • Table displays from the participating groups

2024 World Religion Day Postponed Due to Recent Severe Winter Weather — Reschedule Plans TBA

Due to the recent winter storm in the Shreveport metro area, we are postponing the 2024 World Religion Day event originally scheduled for 21 January 2024.

The rescheduled World Religion Day plans will be announced when we have them.

Our area is not used to the snowy / icy roads, severe cold, and the impact of this winter event on our event organizers and the wider community.

As soon as we have more information on the rescheduled World Religion Day event, we will post it on our website and on social media.

World Religion Day Returns (21 January 2024)

World Religion Day is returning to the Shreveport / Bossier City metro area:

This is an time to come together and celebrate the great religious diversity present right here in our community.

This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Victoria Smith (Specialist in internal medicine and family medicine at Oschner Religional Health in Kenner, Louisiana — speaker and teacher in Soka Gakkai International Buddhism).
